This Spin weekly newspaper, brings me good memories. I remember when even as a student every Tuesday at distributed free and disputed that it was to get one. It was the first medium to be aware of the exhibitions in Madrid and in other provinces, of the various awards that had in each specialty , comments and reflections by artists to of last page, which combined with the 'Jasmine and Garbage "was the first thing I always liked to read. The fall of advertising in recent months and very poor prospects after pressing to our advertisers, have recommended the immediate closure of the weekly newspaper "The Point of Art", after more than 22 years of publication. In its first issue, the April 14, 1986, we note our purposes: "We are born without presentation party, without ostentation of any kind. Small, because we in the first breath. But we claim to grow, to make this shoot a tree generous, capable of serving, by way of communication, promoting the arts and to clarify and strengthen a market that still moves out into the byways Third, more or less information itself that lacks a coherent coverage. "The Point", we believe, comes on time, when Spain was conjecture new times, when the foundations of modernity makes it possible to raise our cultural building to a height not only look beyond the Pyrenees, but, More importantly, in Spain itself. So we intend to be with those who work, with which created and marketed, with that report and also the supporters, in one way or another, responses to challenge English today that we still have an open point.
We have released 938 numbers. And more than 30,000 pages has been written the history of the arts for more than two decades, somewhere between the XX and XXI centuries. "The Point" has been a major national broadcast, we read "beyond the Pyrenees and beyond Atlantic. Rooted in Spain itself as the only means of cultural information that overcomes the divisiveness of a nonsensical world as open, because even the mainstream media general have regional editions. It is precisely their widespread deployment in the market that generates advertising costs that are not covered. So close. For "Art and Heritage, SA", its editor, is not a business practice, acts as an NGO.
"The Point" has been a professional commitment director after many years working in the financial press - "Info rmation Economics," "Five Days" -. A job as exciting as selfless as selfless contribution has been the deputy director and in that period we have seen born and grow from the National Centre de Arte Reina Sofía, then National Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, the IVAM in Valencia, the MEIAC Badajoz or MACBA in Barcelona, \u200b\u200band consolidate the work of artists who were the first references in our pages and now have on the international circuit.
When parting, it hurts us deeply is that staff has made our team, so exemplary in the drafting and administration, remain unemployed. To them all our love. And thanks to advertisers and subscribers, because they are the ones that were until now the coverage needed to maintain our presence so long weekly.

Al III SANTOMERA GRAPHIC HUMOR CONTEST 2008 there have been some 100 artists from almost every continent of the world total of some 150 works have been those received this year, some of them fairly level artistic and humorous that basically is what is intended. In the end, after deliberation by the jury of cartoonists and City staff related to the proposed theme " Tolerance Intercultural " and after rejecting many good pictures have been awarded the four who then named:
1 º. Schmuckler Rudi - Rudi . Romania.
2 º. Ilya Katz - Katz . Israel.
Accesit. Maria José Mosquera - Sex . Spain.
Accesit. Elena Ospina - Elena . Colombia.
Thank you all for participating. After exposure to 30 April -1, will produce a catalog with at least one work of each participant, and all receive, if no problems, in mid-June.
